About Weigeaux

Engineering the next chapter of global mobility

We are a Michigan-rooted, globally-minded deep-tech mobility company. We license proprietary regenerative braking and electric propulsion technologies to OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, heavy-truck manufacturers, and aerospace partners who are building what comes after the combustion era.

Our Mission

Make every kilowatt work harder.

Mobility is being rewritten. Vehicles are becoming software-defined, energy-aware, and electrically driven. Our mission is to make sure every kilowatt of energy spent in those vehicles is recovered, redirected, or reused with the most efficient architecture the industry has seen.

We do not build cars. We build the engineering substrate inside them — the regenerative braking logic, the electric propulsion control, the energy-recovery architecture — and we license it to the manufacturers who do build cars, trucks, and aircraft.

That focus lets us go deeper than any single OEM program could. It also means our technology can show up in dozens of vehicles, across multiple OEMs, in the same model year.

Our Vision

A world where mobility is cleaner, smarter, and licensed from the best.

We see a future where the most efficient propulsion and braking technologies aren't locked inside a single manufacturer — they're licensed across the industry, accelerating global decarbonization and giving every OEM access to world-class engineering.

01

Open the IP

We make our patents, architectures and engineering know-how licensable, so multiple OEMs benefit from a single breakthrough.

02

Engineer the Bridge

We don't just hand over IP — we engineer the integration path, the validation plan, and the production-readiness review.

03

Accelerate the Industry

Faster integration and broader licensing mean cleaner vehicles reach roads, mines, ports and runways years sooner.

Company History

From bench engineering to licensable platform

A focused journey toward making energy-recovery and electric propulsion universally available to OEMs.

Origin

Decades of cross-program engineering

Long before Weigeaux LLC was incorporated, our team accumulated more than 140 years of combined engineering experience across powertrain, vehicle dynamics, software-defined vehicle platforms, and manufacturing programs at global OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.

Concept

The regen architecture takes shape

A novel regenerative braking architecture matures through bench testing and modeling, demonstrating measurable energy-recovery improvements over conventional EV braking systems.

2024

Weigeaux Mobility Technologies LLC formed

The company is incorporated in Michigan to consolidate the underlying intellectual property and offer it to OEMs through a structured licensing and engineering-services model.

Now

Engaging the global OEM community

We are actively engaging passenger-vehicle, heavy-truck and aerospace partners on licensing, joint development, and integration programs — building the partner network that will carry our technology into production.

Next

Commercial deployment

Validated, integrated, in production. Our four-phase roadmap brings our technology from prototype to commercial deployment in licensee vehicles across multiple verticals.

Leadership

Founded by veterans of automotive engineering

Weigeaux is led by two founders whose combined careers span more than seven decades of mobility, manufacturing, and product engineering across the global OEM landscape.

Ron Gillingham, Founder of Weigeaux Mobility Technologies

Ron Gillingham

Founder

Ron is the founder of Weigeaux and brings more than four decades of mobility engineering across automotive, plastics, and manufacturing. A Detroit-rooted product engineer with senior tenure at Ford Motor Company, Dow Automotive, and MSXi, Ron has led BIW design, process innovation, and EV programs from feasibility through production. He is the technical and strategic architect of Weigeaux's licensable regenerative-propulsion platform.

Douglas Carson

Co-Founder

Douglas is co-founder of Weigeaux and leads systems integration, partnerships, and commercial strategy. Bringing decades of automotive and engineering-services experience to the company's licensable technology model, Douglas works directly with OEMs and Tier-1 partners on integration roadmaps, licensing structures, and joint development frameworks. He is the operating partner who turns Weigeaux's deep-tech engineering into production-ready, globally deployable programs.

Operating Principles

How we engineer, partner and deliver

Principle 01

Engineering rigor before commercial promises

Every claim we make is backed by simulation, bench data, or vehicle test. We don't pre-sell what isn't validated.

Principle 02

Open licensing, closed quality

Our IP is broadly licensable — but only to partners who meet our integration and quality standards.

Principle 03

Phase-gated execution

Concept, prototype, integration, deployment. Each phase has measurable exit criteria.

Principle 04

Customer engineering, not customer service

OEM partners get embedded engineers, not ticket queues. We sit in the room, on the call, and at the bench.

Principle 05

Globally fluent, locally precise

Detroit, Frankfurt, Bangalore — we engineer to the regulatory, manufacturing, and supply realities of each market.

Principle 06

Transparent IP boundaries

Clear, written boundaries between licensee IP and our IP — protecting everyone's contribution.
